✅ Quick Setup Checklist

1. No Signal / No Display on TV

✅ Check Power & Cable Connections

  • Ensure Apple TV is connected to power.

  • Reseat the HDMI cable on both Apple TV and TV side.

  • Try a different HDMI port if needed.

Select Correct Input on TV

  • Make sure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input (e.g., HDMI1, HDMI2).

  • Use the TV remote, look for a button labeled InputSource, or TV/Video.

  • Cycle through available inputs (ATV-0001, NB-0001, HDMI-3, etc.) to find the Apple TV screen.

  • Tip: All Apple TVs have the label Room #- ATV-000# 

✅ Check HDMI Connection

  • Unplug the HDMI cable from both the Apple TV and the TV, then plug it back in firmly.

  • Try a different HDMI port on the TV.

  • Try a different HDMI cable if available.


Remote Basics

  • 2nd Gen Apple Remote: Replace battery (CR2032). Check if battery is seated properly.

  • New Gen Siri Remote: Recharge using Lightning cable. Check battery level in Settings > Remotes and Devices.

  • Lost remote? Use iPhone/iPad Control Center > Apple TV Remote.


2. Apple TV Light is On, But No Picture

✅ Reset Video Output

  1. Hold Menu + Up on the Apple Remote for 5 seconds.

  2. This resets the resolution and cycles through different output modes.

  3. Wait 15 seconds between cycles—press OK if the screen appears.


 3. Apple TV is Unresponsive / Frozen

✅ Force Restart

  • 2nd Gen: Hold down Menu + Down on the remote for about 6 seconds.

  • HD/4K: Hold Back (◁) + TV Button

  • The Apple TV light will blink rapidly—this means it’s restarting.


4. Wi-Fi or Streaming Issues

✅ Check Network

  • Go to Settings > General > Network and confirm Wi-Fi is connected.

  • Restart your router and modem if needed.

✅ Restart Apple TV

  • Unplug the power cord, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.


5. Audio Issues (No Sound)

✅ Check TV Volume & Mute

  • Make sure the TV isn’t muted and the volume is up.

✅ Check Audio Settings

  • Go to Settings > Audio & Video > Audio Output and make sure HDMI is selected.
